273|1163809800|static| | Date | Saturday 18th November 06 | | Report by | Dave | | Best Catch | N/a | | Best Bag Weighed in | N/a | | Best Rainbow | N/a | | Best Brown | N/a | | Best Blue | N/a | | Bank Average | N/a | | Boat Rod Average | N/a | Sport: There were only a hand fall of anglers brave enough to face the weather today, they fished through rain, hale and even snow and despite their determination the fish were not playing ball. Two people even tried a boat but found the wind far to dangerous to carry on. So all we can hope for is a break in the weather before time runs out at the end of the season. Tight lines Dave.
272|1163723400|static| | Date | Friday 17th November | | Report by | Peter | | Best Catch | 2 fish by Anton Gysbers | | Best Bag Weighed in | 1 fish for 2lb 8oz by Anton Gysbers | | Best Rainbow | 2lb 8oz by Anton Gysbers | | Best Brown | N/a | | Best Blue | N/a | | Bank Average | 1.00 fish per man | | Boat Rod Average | 0.00 fish per man | Sport: Only a handful of anglers fished today and they were made to work for every fish. The best catch was two fish taken by Anton Gysbers from Bell Point in a short one and a half hour morning session. Anton used an Intermediate and Orange Fritz Lure to good effect with a slow retrieve. The laws of averages suggest that, had he fished from 8am until 4pm, he would have landed at least 10 fish. Just something that came to mind, but hey I guess we’ll never know for sure! Also today Mr Ellison had the one fish from Grindy’s Lawn on a Montana. Tight Lines, Peter

Conditions were quite good however and tomorrows forecast looks ok, so we will hopefully have more to report then! Hope to see you soon, Peter

Following the footprints I ended back at the lodge and realised they were mine am I really going insane or was I dreaming of being Robinson Crusoe .If anyone would like to fish remember we are open until the end of the month. Tight lines R.C

Tight lines Dave
268|1163377800|static| | Date | Monday 13th November 06 | | Report by | Dave | | Best Catch | N/a | | Best Bag Weighed in | N/a | | Best Rainbow | N/a | | Best Brown | N/a | | Best Blue | N/a | | Bank Average | N/a | | Boat Rod Average | N/a | Sport: Once again we were beaten by the weather nobody turned up to try their luck but Ben and myself were kept busy retrieving a wayward boat from Blackhouse bay. The wind was so strong the boat broke free during the night, but thank goodness it is due to die down overnight and tomorrow should be like Sunday so we hope to see you then .Tight lines Dave.
267|1163291400|static| | Date | Sunday 12th November | | Report by | Ben | | Best Catch | 5 fish for Peter Andrews | | Best Bag Weighed in | 2 trout for 5lbs 6oz | | Best Rainbow | 3lbs 5oz | | Best Brown | 2lbs 8oz Bob Fitzpatrick | | Best Blue | N/a | | Bank Average | 0.8 fish per man | | Boat Rod Average | 1.9 fish per man | Sport: After a stormy night that put down a lot of water and raised the water level once again on the fishery it was nice to be greeted by more clement conditions. It was the Northern Bank Masters today and the competitors new that they were going to have a tricky days fishing. We restricted the area to Hollins Bay and it did prove to be tough. 11 anglers caught 10 fish. Four people had two apiece so it came down to the weight. In First place was Kenneth Skilling winning a £200 vision fly rod, Kenneth fished a pink and white gold head on an intermediate line with a slow retrieve. In 2nd place winning a Sierra waistcoat was Graham Kennily who fished the same fly and method. 3rd equal was Steve Bland and Ian Skilling who both won Sierra chest packs. The heaviest fish went to James Vann. The best sport today was out on the boats at the Northern Shallows and Willow Island. Everybody that took a boat today caught. The best catch went to Peter Andrews who had five trout from Willow Island. Peter fished a Humongous back slowly on an intermediate line to take most of his fish. Tight lines Ben.

Tomorrows forecast looks a lot better so hopefully the competition should produce a few decent catches. Tight Lines, Peter
265|1163118600|static| | Date | Friday 10th November | | Report by | Peter | | Best Catch | N/a | | Best Bag Weighed in | N/a | | Best Rainbow | N/a | | Best Brown | N/a | | Best Blue | N/a | | Bank Average | 0.00 | | Boat Rod Average | 0.00 | Sport: Today never really felt like a good fishing day, although it was overcast and there was a nice breeze it just felt to cold to bring the fish into a feeding mood. Of the six anglers that turned out a couple of fish were hooked only to throw the hook at the last minute, very frustrating after working hard all day. Hopefully things will improve for the weekend. Hopefully see you soon, Peter
264|1163032200|static| | Date | Thursday 9th November | | Report by | Peter | | Best Catch | 2 fish to Paul Bebb | | Best Bag Weighed in | 2lb 8oz by Paul Marston | | Best Rainbow | 2lb 8oz by Paul Marston | | Best Brown | 2lb by Paul Bebb | | Best Blue | N/a | | Bank Average | 1.00 | | Boat Rod Average | 0.00 | Sport: The weather took a turn for the best today and the clear night we had left us with a lovely crisp autumn morning. Ron Owens was the only bank fisherman out on the water today, however due to forgotten family commitments he had to leave early at around 10am, thus recording no fish. From the boats local guide Paul Bebb was out on the water with Paul Marston. They fished hard and covered the water thoroughly all day using a Di3 sinking line with a Peach Booby on the point and Cormorants on the droppers. Their commitment paid off were rewarded with the odd fish apiece, one of which was a cracking wild Brown Trout of 2lbs taken by Paul Bebb. Just before finishing they decided to have a cast or two in the Northern Shallows were Paul Bebb had another fish, an overwintered Rainbow this time of around 2lbs. He also lost another fish and missed four takes in ten casts, this just shows the fish are in tight pods, so just remember to keep on the move and you will hopefully reap the rewards. Tight Lines, Peter

Here’s a joke for all you people sat in tying flies, drinking tea and looking out of the window! Hope you like it. Peter A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the Store operates. You may visit the store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the Shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a catch . . . you May choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building! So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find herself a husband. >>> > On the first floor the sign on the door reads: >>> > Floor 1 - These men have jobs and love the Lord. >>> > The second floor sign reads: >>> > Floor 2 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, and love kids. >>> > The third floor sign reads: >>> > Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, and are extremely good looking. >>> > "Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. >>> > She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads: >>> > Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop dead good looking and help with the housework. >>> > "Oh, mercy me! “She exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!" Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads: >>> > Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak. >>> > She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads: >>> > >>> > Floor 6 - You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. >>> > Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!
262|1162859400|static| | Date | Tuesday 7th November 06 | | Report by | Dave | | Best Catch | 3 fish to Mr ? | | Best Bag Weighed in | 5lb to Mr? | | Best Rainbow | 3lb 8ozs to Mr Williams | | Best Brown | N/a | | Best Blue | N/a | | Bank Average | 0.55 fish per man | | Boat Rod Average | 0.80 fish per man | Sport: It was a glorious autumnal morning with a clear sky and a flat calm reservoir, maybe not ideal for fishing but perfect for postcards. There were a few intrepid anglers that felt they could tempt the fish into feeding and some were right ,the best catch of the day came from the boats but once again the fish were taken no more than a few feet from the bank. Mr ? said he caught on a black taddy again very close in on the Eastern shore by Blackhouse bay. Mr Williams had best catch from the bank with two fish from an area between the jetty and Bell point unfortunately he didn’t say what flies he used. With more of today’s weather forecast over the next few days why not make the most of it and finish the season with some rod-bending sport. Tight lines Dave.
261|1162773000|static| | Date | Monday 6th November 06 | | Report by | Dave | | Best Catch | N/a | | Best Bag Weighed in | N/a | | Best Rainbow | N/a | | Best Brown | N/a | | Best Blue | N/a | | Bank Average | N/a | | Boat Rod Average | N/a | Sport: As you can see by the figures there was nothing caught today as the cold wind deterred anybody from turning out . With the level now returned to almost full and the frosts of late disappearing to make way for milder and much more settled weather we can but hope that the sport will return to previous levels within the next day or two. Tight lines Dave
