Sport: A day without ice!! I’m glad to have seen the back of the cold spell time to hang up the ice skates and get the rods out me thinks!
The northern Shallows have produced the goods again with Willow Island standing out as a hot spot. Top rod today goes to Kieran Morton who had 18 fish up to 4lb all falling for a black fritz fished steady on a sinking line.
Opposite to the lure pulling Regular Tony Taylor had 10 fish with numerous more chances on his own tied buzzer. Toney’s buzzer is black and silver and was fished just sub surface.
John Forster took the best bag of fish today weighing in at 20lb 8oz. Amongst them 5 John had a rainbow 0f 10lb all his fish fell to yellow dancers along the northern shallows.
Scores of 3 were common place from the shoreline today however the strong winds first thing did make things a little tricky. One bank angler did have a blinder with 12 fish in just a short afternoon session. Robert Feenan took all the fish by two trees with a black and gold fritz doing the damage. Tomorrows forecast is probably the best I have seen all season, mild 80 to 100% cloud cover and a 10 mph breeze. This weekend could be the best yet!
Tight lines Matthew.
