Sport: A cracking day for drifting with a steady breeze holding the boat tight in to the margins. John Sutton got himself to the east bank were he had 14 fish in a half day session. John Hooked and lost a further 10 fish, he found that two orange blobs pulled on an intermediate did the trick. John commented on the quality of the 5lb 8oz rainbow he caught and that all the fish came from tight in to the margins. Good angling John! Regulars Karl and John found the fish on the drift too with 8 in a short session. They made contact with some cracking brownies up by the dam with a little Zulu doing the damage on a floater. Often when the fish are in the margins you will have more success approaching them from the boat, if you were to wade from the shore you would spook the fish whereas from the boat you can drop your flies right into the banking from 20 plus yards away.
Mike Croston had a good day from the bank were he tempted 8 fish from Bell Point. Mike used a team of black hoppers on a floater.
Things are looking great for the weekend.
Tight lines Matthew.
