Sport: Although the past couple of days have been a little quiet I just thought it was worth mentioning that the fish are still up in the water chasing. Although Mark |Tyndall only had 4 fish on Monday he did get a treble hook up! Three brown trout on one cast! Mark was pulling an orange blob booby with the traditional patterns on the point. Regular Ged Oxley had 3 good fish from Bell point all coming to black fritz patterns. Scores of 3 and four have been the norm and I’m sure that with some settled weather them averages will go straight up.
On another note another Stocks Bowlander team has qualified for an International grand final! Our Peter and the Stocks Barracudas finished 5th just piping Ben and the falcons by 7oz!!
A good year so far for Stocks on the competition scene, It is so easy to get involved and success can see you fishing at some other great venues throughout the country, not to mention more time out on our water! There is a good fun pair’s competition on the 23rd of August that may just wet your appetite. Just give me a call at the lodge for more information.
Overall though despite some lousy weather the fish are still up and chasing, and indeed still taking the dry fly.
Tight lines Matthew.
