Sport: Another warm day at stocks and the beetles were on the water again with fish seemingly preoccupied with the little fellas but some cracked the code and caught well. On the bank Colin Fitzjohn caught 10 fish all on a home tied foam beetle from Bell point. Also on the bank John Fletcher had 6 fish in a short half day session. All johns fish fell to a Dalehead dabbler fished on a floating line at Bell Point. On the boats the fishing has been a lot better with some anglers catching into double figure Neil Heath caught 5 fish on various flies. Also with 5 fish John Sykes who found his fish on the east bank and found pulling lures through the feeding fish worked best. This can be a very effective method on fish preoccupied with a specific food source. Bob Fitzpatrick once again drifted around the reservoir and caught 11 fish mainly on a sunk foam daddy or a green Diawl Bach. Bobs hotspots were Blackhouse Bay, Halsteads hike and Hartleys. Todays top rod with a very impressive 22 fish was regular David Manning. David took the majority of his fish from Willow Island and Currys cast with buzzers fished on a washing line being his beth method. Tomorrow is looking more overcast this really could bring the fish up to the surface for some frenetic dry fly action, see you out there petec
