Sport: There was a cold breeze over the water today and lengthy periods of bright sunshine and the fish proved a little trickier. Although if I had a pound for every angler that has told me today that he has been snapped by a big fish I would have oooh at least £8 
Pete Scholes and Steve Bland had 10 trout to their boat on a mixture of wets and boobies and I am glad to say that Steve didn’t get snapped when a huge fish took his fly. See the picture below. Pete and Steve were the top boat today.
Jim Pickford and ray Sanders had eight trout between them, Jim caught on pink boobies and ray on foam daddies. Ray got broken twice by big fish. Their best area was down the east bank from the Dam to Halstead’s Hike.
It was nice to Jim Curry back on the water today. He was out with James Vann. Jim proved that he can still catch on Stocks with a very good five fish. He caught them all on daddies and he even had a fish or two off Curry’s Cast. Part of the reservoir that was named after him.
John Rae also had four trout from the top on bibios. Ray fished them on a floating line and found the Dam most productive.
The Dam produced some good fish for the bank anglers as well. Jezz Bailey caught a nice 9lb 12oz rainbow on an olive dunking daddy. He then added two more over a short session to put three on the scales for 14lbs 4oz. Ray caught around Grindy’s Lawn.
Nearby Phil Gordon was catching on black buzzers held up with a suspender buzzer. His catch of three fish included a 7lb rainbow.
It was great to see 7 year old William Burrell skilfully landing two good fish with his granddad Paul Whitley. Good angling you two.
It going to warm up and cloud over tomorrow so hopefully the rod averages will rise up again. Tight Lines Ben
