SPORT:                                          After what seemed like another ice age we have emerged rested and fishing well. The water has warmed from 0.5 degree to 5 degrees and its still rising. The rising temperature is making all the difference, the trout are becoming more and more active and the rod average reflects this. We are getting lots of limits caught and the trout are spread all over the lake. Dan Richmond used an Amber Apps Worm to great effect to tempt an excellent catch of rainbows and blues to 7lbs. He fished it on a floating line with a 12 foot leader. The trick was to count it down for 10 then to twitch it back in inch long twitches. Darren Mayor had another great day using gold head buzzers fished underneath an indicator. Darren has found most trout at a depth of about 4 feet, but if you’re not catching make sure you adjust the depth. Phil Bisgrove has been using a gold headed cat’s whisker to great effect and amongst his catches was a cracking 10lb rainbow.  Phil has been fishing the cat slowly back on a 12 foot leader and a floating line. Yesterday (12th) Paul Burrows from Wigan used a zonker to on a floating line to tempt a great catch of rainbows and blues. The trout are definitely becoming more willing to chase.   Tight lines Ben
