Close by are many attractive villages with craft and antique shops, ancient churches and places to stroll and picnic a plenty. Of particular note are Slaidburn, Dunsop Bridge, Bolton by Bowland, Chipping and Waddington. Also close by are the market towns of Clitheroe, Settle and Skipton packed with things to see and do.

During the summer there are local Steam Fairs, Festivals, agricultural shows and village fairs aplenty.

There are visitor centres at Settle and Bashall Barn near Clitheroe.

Stocks nestles at one end of Gisburn forest with its superb cycle ways and footpaths and we are just a stones throw from the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Forest of Bowland AONB, and the Ribble Valley with its quiet country roads, riverside walks ancient abbeys and picturesque villages.
